End of JUNE

Can't pass a chance to celebrate this guy.  Best Dad around.  Even when he is dead tired he still shows up and spends time with the kids.  I hope they realize one day how lucky the are!

Took some time off of packing to take some pictures with this girl.  She can now say Ollie.  She doesn't say Mom or Dad but she says Ollie.  She truly loves her brothers!!!

Went to the Kincaid sand dune.  We were hoping to get a little sun but instead we encountered a wind storm.  We toughed it out for awhile before we gave up.  The kids had fun and there was sand everywhere!!

At the last minute we decided to check out the airshow.  It ended up being perfect weather and we had almost no traffic. The kids had fun checking out all the planes and watching the flying demos.  Harper didn't like the loud noise and would lay against me and let me cover her ears every time a loud plane went by.

Our house back up to Peter's Creek park.  We took a little time to explore one Sunday afternoon.

Had some friends over for some hot tubbing.

When we first moved in Cohen was excited to shoot squirrels.  I told him he had to eat everything he shot.  He quickly decided he would not be shooting squirrels.  Not long after we spotted a squirrel getting in our attic. at that point the rules changed and Cohen and Mason become avid squirrel hunters. 

One night Denton and I were sitting in our kitchen with the windows open (around 11pm). We could hear a crashing outside and found a momma moose with her calf wandering through our yard.

On July 2nd we met up with the Johnson's and Garrett's at the highschool to play a little football and run the track.  The older kids were having so much fun playing, the younger kids were playing on the bleachers and the Mom's were just hanging out with the babies.  After awhile one of the kids came over and said Ollie fell.  I went over to the bleachers and found him standing on the walkway at the bottom.  He seemed a little out of it so I carried him over to the parents.  After a few minutes it became apparent that he was not acting himself.  He couldn't really focus on anything and couldn't answer questions.  Since we didn't know how high up he was was we decided to head in for our first ER visit. I am thankful for good friends that didn't hesitate to take our other kids and Denton and I quickly headed off. 

The drive to the hospital was a little stressful.  Ollie just wanted to sleep and wasn't really making sense.  I called the hospital to let them know we were coming and they got us right in.  After evaluating him they recommended we get a CT to check for brain bleeds and an xray to check for broken bones.  While we waited Ollie was allowed to sleep.  He hardly even woke when they took the xray to make sure nothing was broken as he was breathing a little funny.   After the CT Ollie woke up and started to act more like himself.  Everything one the CT and xray were normal but he definitely had a concussion.  The doctor said it is hard to know what is concussion and what is a tired child as the accident didn't occur until after 10:00 pm (we never sleep during AK summers). We were given the go ahead to go home, we just had to make sure he didn't have any screens and limited activity that could re injure his brain.  We are so thankful that everything turned out okay.  It was a little surprising that Ollie was the kid to send us to the ER as he is definitely the most cautious.
