In Eagle River they do fireworks for the 4th of July at 12:00am the night of the 3rd/morning of the 4th. The church lawn is perfect for viewing and it was fun to hang out as we waited for the show to start.
Luckily it was a cloudy night so it was a little darker and we could see the fireworks a little better.
The next day we met up with the Johnson's in Chugiak for the parade. The parade lasted about 30 minutes and was perfect!
I love this guy and his love of this holiday.
My little Americans
Later that night we met up with some more friends (Johnson's, Brewers, and Garrett's) at the Knik River for a fire. We didn't come prepare with swimming suits so the boys were soon stripped down to their under playing in this giant puddle.
The glacial silt sticks to everything. Ollie isn't too into getting dirty.
Sometimes when you play so hard you fall asleep in the tub like Mason
Alaska for July 4th is pretty fabulous and I can't wait for next year to keep these traditions going.
