Due to soccer we missed the ceremonial start of the Iditarod in downtown Anchorage. We went back and forth and then decided we were this close we might as well go to the official start in Willow. I am sure glad we did. It was really neat to see all the mushers and dogs getting ready to start. The dogs were wired and it took a full team of handlers just to get them to the starting line. This race is insane, they travel almost 1000 miles over the course of 9ish days. Just to complete this race would be a huge accomplishment!
There was a guy that was walking around his pet reindeer. Only in Alaska!
This is as good as it gets when strangers take your picture, and you have 3 small children.
It was a beautiful day and you could see Denali in the distance.
Gotta cheer my fellow Canadian on.
All the excitement wore Mason out
