Tannis and Nathan arrived and we didn't waste anytime. We had a little time before the July 3rd fireworks so we headed to Beach Lake and hiked to the inlet. Denton had to carry Oliver because we were trying to have him take it easy post concussion.
After our hike we headed over to Eagle River to watch the fireworks. They light them off at midnight on July 3rd/4th and it still isn't very dark. One of the many things that I just say, OH ALASKA!
Cohen and Mason watching with our friends the Garretts.
After the sun was setting and Denali was out. We drove to the top of Baldy for a photo shoot. Nathan and Tannis thought we were crazy but after that we had some clouds and Denali was never completely out again.
On July 4th we met up with some friends at Loretta French park for a BBQ. Followed by some soccer in the balls. It was hot and we were in a full on sweat by the end. The balls don't allow for much ventilation.
Then we walked over the the highway for the can't be missed Chugiak parade. It was hot and we sat in the sun but the kids has a blast raking in the candy.

After the parade Denton took the older boys with our guests for a suicide run on the Russian. Unfortunately no one caught anything.
Denton had to work so we took Nathan and Tannis up the Butte (one of our fave hikes).
Of course no trip is complete without at least one visit to Mirror Lake.
Couldn't miss first Friday at the museum.
Some of us had more fun than others.
