Homer Highlights

We finally made it down onto the Kenai Peninsula!
The boat the Time Bandit from the show Deadliest Catch was being worked on.  So we had to stop and take a picture for avid fans Shawn and Tim.
Denton picked out an amazing hotel at the end of the Spit. I could get used to eating breakfast everyday with views like this.
Bev and I toured Homer while Marv and Denton went fishing.
The kids played on the beach.
View of the spit from up higher.
We discovered this amazing park.  It had really neat toys and the you can't beat the view.  We even got to see some Orthodox Russians.
After the park we stopped at visitors center and looked around.  We still had a little bit of time to kill so we drove out to Nikolaevsk.  Denton and I had watched a documentary about this Russian Orthodox settlement so we decided to check it out.
Here is the fishing.  I guess they use a tractor to launch boats instead of a dock???
Halibut
King Salmon
Cod
More King Salmon
The haul
Halibut are funny looking fish.
The salmon was almost as big as Oliver.
Eagle hoping for a meal.  There were so many bald eagles down in this area.  You could almost always see one circling overhead when you were driving around.
Church in Ninilchik
Riding around in the back with my crew.
To say Ollie is obsessed with lego mini figs (guys as he calls them) would be an understatement.
Mothers day.  The boys made me a candy picture.
Cohen was really glad to be at church...

Last stop with our visitors was the parking lot at flat top.  Unfortunately it was a little cold and windy.  We sure had fun with Marv and Bev and hope they come back soon and often!
