The next day we packed up to drive another 5+ hours to Edmonton. On the way we got to stop and see one of my best friends Esther. It was fun to see her new digs :) and let the boys play. It doesn't matter how long it has been we just pick up right where we left off! I love this girl!
We FINALLY made it to Edmonton and got to meet baby Scarlett. She was just as amazing as I imagined and it was so fun to have a baby to snuggle.
We ventured out for a little park time.
One of the highlights of our trip was going to the Jurassic Forest in Gibbons. Luckily my Mom was in Edmonton for the week so she got to join in on all the fun. It was pretty amazing, these giant dinosaurs moved and made noises. The kids were a little hesitant at first (especially Quinny). But soon they were in heaven, at least my boys were.
Then it was my 29th birthday! So Erin made sure I had a fun day. What could be better than a poutine lunch at Costco!?
Followed by a trip to the splash park. Cohen and Mason were a little wimpy and thought it was cold and spent most of the time chasing seagulls. Quinn was a champ and tried to show them how it is done.
We took Scarlett all over the place and she mostly just did this. She really is an amazing child.
Cohen warming up on me.
Then we had a little angel food birthday cake complete with sparklers. At the time the thought of making our traditional skor cake was a little overwhelming.
And finally T escaped from wedding planning/preparing to join us for cheese and dessert at the melting pot. It was fun to get out and eat some yummy food! It was a pretty good birthday. I better make this last year in my 20's count!!!
We have little bike posse. Mason likes to think pants are optional.
We spent one of our last days in Edmonton having a picnic at the Leg. My kids did much better swimming here. Cohen thought the waterfall was "fantastic".
We also got to go to Tannis and Nathan's perception in Edmonton. Everything looked perfect and the food was delicious. My kids managed to completely trash their clothes but after some soaking and scrubbing with oxy clean it all came out. Now we can't wait for the actual wedding!
We had a blast in Edmonton. Tyler was great and watched the 3 oldest most nights. Can't wait to come back and visit again!!!
